The Challenge

Hello and welcome to our fundraising site. In November 2009, Imogen Murphy and Caroline Malone will be the sole Irish team taking part in a 14 day charity car rally through Southern India to raise money for two fantastic children’s charities, Unicef and Rainbow Trust.

The challenge is to complete a gruelling route of 2000km, driving 12 hours a day, over mountains, across hot arid plains, through dense forest trails and into hectic towns taking in some of the most demanding terrain in the region.

To make things more interesting, we won't exactly be using state of the art machinery. The car of choice is the infamous Hindustan Ambassador.  The Indian manufactured vehicle is based on the 1956 Mk 3 Morris Oxford and the shape of the Ambassador body has barely changed in 50 years. See what our journey will be like here.

Our Aim

We are taking part in the Karma Enduro rally in order to raise a minimum of €12,500 in sponsorship both through our own efforts and hopefully the donations of others.

Karma Enduro provides desperately-needed funds to Unicef and The Rainbow Trust. One fifth of the world’s children live in India and Unicef funds programmes to ensure that these children have the best possible start in life. The Rainbow Trust provides a special service to families back home that have a child suffering from a terminal illness. Previous Enduro events have raised at least £300,000, helping to build schools in India and provide respite care for families with terminally ill children.

To reach our pledge, and give direct aid to needy children, we need your help now.

Your Help

We would like to call on your generosity to help support the two nominated charities and the amazing work that they do. There are a number of ways that you can do this:

Sponsor us by making a donation
The simplest way to do this is to click on the 'Donate' button on our Sponsor Us page. All payments are made securely through PayPal. You can use credit cards or debit cards and do not need to have a PayPal account to do this. If you prefer to make a donation by bank transfer, cheque or cash lodgement, you'll find bank details here.

Corporate sponsorship
Sponsor us through your company and we will place a link to your company website on our Thank You page and include your company name in our publicity material. There is also the opportunity to create a presence for your company on the Ambi car we'll be dirving through India. All we require is a donation and an electronic copy of your company’s logo and we’ll take it from there.

Spread the word
By simply letting all your friends and family know about this site, you would really be helping. If you want to go that extra mile, you could always print off a sponsorship form and help us raise and collect even more money.
